Deep Sea Fishing Trip
Men! There is still time to get on board for our second annual fishing excursion May 10th. Be
sure to sign up at the back table this Sunday. The more the merrier, but cheaper too! This is a
great fellowship to invite friends! See Tom Murray for more information.
*There will be no PM activities on Mother’s Day.
Baptism Scheduled for May
Our next baptism is scheduled for 1pm on May 18th at the Crescent Beach ramp. Make plans to
attend either as one being baptized or as one who will testify to this memorable moment in their
lives. If you would like to be baptized, complete the Baptism Information Packet and turn it in as
soon as possible. These packets are located at the back table of the sanctuary.
Women’s Fellowship Study
Memorizing Scripture supplies spiritual power, strengthens your faith and stimulates prayer. Our
ladies have been meeting on Sundays at 5:30pm for a half hour before ACC for that very
purpose. Beginning May 4th, we’re expanding that half hour to a full hour and will begin at 5pm
to provide more time for fellowship and study of the verses being memorized. So ladies, join us
on Sunday evenings for fellowship, study and to further encourage each other in the valuable
spiritual discipline of Scripture Memorization!
Sunday Evening Connections
Be sure to join us each week for Sunday Evening Connections for the whole family. Children
meet for Kidoodle Kids Choir in the children’s room at the end of the hall, middle school and high
school students meet for BreakPointe in the building next door, and our adults gather in the
main worship area for studies designed to teach us the importance of growing in our Christian
faith. Sunday Evening Connections begins at 6pm and conclude at 7pm each Sunday.
Consider taking advantage of this opportunity to study God’s Word together. It’s a great time of
fellowship and an opportunity to bless and be blessed!
Youth Worship
Each Sunday evening, our middle school and high school students meet for worship, study and
fun led by Pastor Phil and his ministry team of young adults. This is a very important ministry
time and a great opportunity for our youth to grow together in Christ through teaching and
activities designed specifically for them.
GracePointe is committed to ministry for the whole family! We accomplish this through the
corporate worship time on Sunday mornings and through opportunities such as this. If you have
a teenager, encourage them to attend. Either way, join our ministry team in prayer for our
students and talk to Pastor Phil about how you might become involved.
Adult Connection Class (ACC)
Join us Sunday Night at 6pm for our final session of the study Jesus Among Other Gods by Ravi
Zacharias - In each of the four sessions, this study considers a unique claim that Jesus made
and then contrasts the truth of Jesus with the founders of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism with
compelling insight and passionate conviction. Jesus is who He said He is!

- Baby Dedication
Dedicating a child acknowledges God's sovereignty not only over the child,
but also over Mom and Dad. Parents present their child before God and His
people asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out their responsibilities.
Parents also come praying that their child might one day trust Jesus Christ as
Savior for the forgiveness of sin.
Deut. 6:4-7 - “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your
heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them
when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie
down, and when you rise.”
We have a special baby dedication service planned for Mother’s Day, May
11th, during our regular morning worship service. If you would like to take
part in this service by presenting your child for dedication, please see Lisa
Bryl this Sunday.

- Newly/Nearly Married Fellowship Study
Beginning May 13th, we’ll begin a new fellowship and study for couples who are
newly married or engaged to be married. Join us at Pastor Steve’s and Cheryl’s
home for the first Newly/Nearly Married Fellowship Study which will take us through
the Book of the Song of Solomon. This is a 12-week video study series teaching the
Biblical design for relationships. For both engaged to be married couples and
recently married couples, this exegetical study follows Solomon's relationship from
attraction to dating and courtship, marriage and intimacy to resolving conflict,
keeping romance alive, and committing to the end. See Pastor Steve or Cheryl for
more information.

- Next Week: Battling Unbelief by John Piper
The subtitle to this study, “defeating sin with superior pleasure,” says it all. There is
godly pleasure in applying faith in everyday circumstances to defeat the unbelief
and lies that Satan throws at us. Fighting these lies, and the resultant anxiety,
pride, impatience, and other sinful attitudes that trip us up with what Piper calls “the
purifying power of God's truth” blesses us with peace as we see God enabling us to
live by faith in his promises and his grace.
